How to Choose a New Hairstyle or Hair Colour – Book a Consultation at My Hair Guru Paisley

We all look at the beautiful hair transformations appearing on Instagram and Facebook, but these posts often give no indication of what goes on behind the scenes to achieve the new looks.  What’s really involved?  Would it work with your own hair?  What kind of time commitment would be required to maintain the look, not to mention budget?!

These are the kind of questions we can help answer during your consultation session.   We will assess your hair so we can advise you on how it will respond to different cuts and colours.  We’ll also ask you about your hair goals – what kind of look would you ideally like to acheive?  We’ll also help you to decide what will work best for you given your lifestyle, time available to commit to your hair and budget.   After this we’ll be able to recommend the most suitable service and style for you.   

During the consultation we may ask you about:

• Your hair history – for example, has your hair been home coloured?  What other treatments have you used on your hair?
• Your hair concerns – are you worried that your hair is frizzy, britlle or thinning, for example.
• Your hair goals – what would you ideally like to achieve?  Thicker hair?  A new style?  A warmer colour?
• Your available time – How much time do you have to spend on your hair?  Can you manage a high maintenance style for example?
• Your available budget –  This could influence the options available to you.  

Once we’ve talked throught these key points we’ll discuss with you:

–  The services we can offer and what we would recommend for you.

– Any treatments that will be needed before we can achieve your desired outcome.  For example, if your hair is in very poor condition or has been over processed, we may recommend an Olaplex treatment to restore it before we make any further colour changes.

– The process and time scale that will be involved in your planned change.   For example, if you are planning a full colour change, this will need to be done in stages.  We couldn’t take you from dark brown to blonde or vivid pink in one step!

– The home care that will be needed to keep your new style looking its best.

If you are planning a hair colour change or smoothing treatment, we will also do a quick allergy patch test to make sure you will not suffer any sensitivity or reaction to the hair care products we use.
